# Building Cosign with the a16z New Media Team

Every single career was built on a chance someone took on another. Silicon Valley runs on this principle, and our goal with [Cosign](https://cosign.co) is to create a platform that extends that opportunity to anyone in the world.

Cosign's commitment to our users is to increase their surface area for luck by surfacing opportunities and spreading the best ideas, projects, and companies to people who deeply care about technology.

In only our fifth week of existence, we've attracted some of the best early adopters among builders and investors. We've built a substantial waitlist of people excited about the project.

We're fortunate to have a head start through the a16z community, which includes many of the builders and investors we hope to serve. Already, we've had users and Silicon Valley legends reach out to support the project. We're listening closely to their feedback as we build alongside them.

Productizing the referral is a difficult problem. We do not take the responsibility lightly. The sheer audacity of launching a social network comparable to a behemoth like LinkedIn perfectly captures the ambition of the New Media team.

We're rolling out some novel primitives to capture the sentiment of Silicon Valley. We'll treat agents as first-class citizens, and we hope to attract the best talent in tech by offering them the opportunity to connect their talent to a network built to support their ambitions.

I'm excited to work alongside this small team of scrappy builders as we bring this vision to life.
